How do you build a reliable platform usable in 120 different countries?
Pariveda was approached by an international member organization for assistance redesigning their social media platform. The organization has 20,000 members in 120 different countries worldwide and the problem they were facing was further magnified by their far-reaching network. Their site performed slowly for both members and content editors in their main locations, and in other locations it was essentially unavailable.
The poorly performing implementation of the site directly impacted the marketing efforts as well as deterring content editors from creating, editing and managing content. In these ways, the organization was unable to fully serve their members. Additionally, one of the main issues that was causing this poor implementation was the poorly designed customizations on the website. These resulted in difficult maintenance as well as limited continued use to their investments. There was inconsistency in the varying social media environments because the processes for posting information was manual. This also resulted in the requirement of a large team that needed to plan and initiate any release of information.
Architect from the ground up for any audience
To help this organization, Pariveda developed and implemented different levels of requirements. First, we improved performance for their global audience as well as their infrastructure. They then recreated the custom web components to leverage the capabilities of the site instead of holding it back. They created more stable design principles for the custom-developed components and made management of it easier to implement. They also put into place some automated testing as a development practice to allow tighter feedback loops for system changes. Finally, they created and implemented all of their deployment processes.
Encompassing platform enhances membership experience
Together, these changes created value for the organization. Overall, the performance of response times was faster and more reliable, which led to more customer satisfaction. The marketers and editors were able to complete their jobs without a lot of jumping through hoops. The custom components could be leveraged in the present and have the capability to be used in the future for new components. With an automated deployment system, the organization was able to reduce the manual work and create more stability within the network. Lastly, with the automated testing, more feedback was gathered at a faster rate for easier upgrades and fixes later.
