Erik is an exceptionally resourceful problem seeker who engineers creative ways to make things work. You will typically find him diagramming or modeling things (whatever it takes to engender a common understanding and solve for the problem) from solution concepts for a client to data and technology views for product delivery teams.
In addition to having drawn awesome pictures, Erik developed solution architectures (e.g., creating pipelines for IoT telemetry data in a customer’s cloud environment), designed proofs of concept (e.g., develop IoT firmware and ingest/transform data with serverless technologies) to demonstrate the viability of those architectures, managed and was accountable for the security and operational efficiency of a company’s AWS environment, designed and developed customer-facing products, created strategies for branching a line of business to enter new markets, and led roadmapping initiatives for transforming back-office business systems.
Erik is a TOGAF and AWS certified solution architect who has operated primarily within large enterprise IT environments (financial services, manufacturing, DoD, and civilian agencies) in a consulting and full-time capacity in design and delivery roles. Most recently, he served as the Chief Cloud Architect for an IoT startup.
His areas of expertise include business, data, and solution architecture and modeling; business model analysis and value prop design; operating model design; process analysis and re-engineering; data analysis, visualization, and reporting; technical research and writing; and prototyping.
Prior to joining Pariveda Solutions, Erik held positions at Moody’s Corporation, EY, Deloitte Consulting, IBM Global Business Services, and Loud-Hailer Inc.
When Erik is not working, he enjoys bouncing around the globe, playing tennis and baseball/softball, catching live shows and sporting events, and doing anything else that involves being outside.
Erik holds a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.
