With more than 40 years of consulting experience, Dr. Gerry Kraines is uniquely qualified to lead Pariveda’s Strategic Organization Transformation and Organizational Change practice areas. In his role, Gerry consults worldwide to companies of all sizes. He has helped to integrate and implement many successful corporate reorganizations resulting from rapid growth, acquisitions, mergers, and consolidations.
Prior to joining Pariveda, Gerry was chairman and CEO of Levinson & Co., taking over from its founder, Dr. Harry Levinson, in 1991. Gerry was also on the faculty of Harvard Medical School for many years. His career has focused on enhancing leadership effectiveness: as an executive for healthcare organizations, as a teacher of leadership, as an executive coach, and since the 1980s, as a consultant to senior executives about leadership systems. Gerry brings a systems perspective to Pariveda’s research, education, and consultation. At Pariveda, he is continuing Levinson’s mission of disseminating in-depth knowledge about managerial leadership systems combined with the psychological aspects of leadership. Before becoming CEO of Levinson & Co., Gerry was the medical director at a regional mental health center. He also practiced clinical psychiatry for over 15 years.
When Gerry is not working (not often enough), he loves spending time with his wife, Cynsie, and his dogs. He enjoys reading, movies and spending time with his many friends from all over the world. He is also an avid fan of the New England Patriots.
Born in Chicago, Gerry received an undergraduate degree from Oberlin College, a medical degree from Case Western Reserve, and a psychiatric fellowship and a postgraduate degree from Harvard Medical School. Gerry has written extensively on diverse subjects, including brain chemistry, mental health administration, stress in the workplace, and creating highly adaptive and accountable work systems. His critically acclaimed book, Accountability Leadership, was first published in 2001 and rereleased in paperback in 2011. Gerry is currently working on his next book, tentatively titled Productivity Untangled, which will be published in October 2020.
