Richard Echeandia joined Pariveda Solutions as a principal with significant experience in the personal computer industry designing, developing, implementing and maintaining custom software and hardware. He has 15 years of hands-on project management experience, working in a wide variety of industries. Richard has significant experience working in large corporate environments and building enterprise-wide solutions.
Experience
Mr. Echeandia has over 26 years of experience in the Information Technology industry specializing in application, infrastructure and system methodology development. During this time, he has run several different custom application development companies and worked in an extremely wide variety of industries giving him a wide range and depth of client experience. One area of expertise that Richard brings to all his projects is an ability to analyze business processes, streamline them and make them repeatable. Examples of this include his work for an international pharmaceutical manufacturer, where Richard was the key architect and implementer of a complete application development methodology for Lotus Notes/Domino. This framework contained tools and documented processes for all phases of product development from requirements analysis to change managed deployment within an FDA validated environment. Using this methodology, the client was able to achieve a level 2 CMMI formal appraisal for its application development and maintenance processes.
For a Texas based commercial software company, Richard worked with the client’s staff and other Pariveda consultants to create a Software Upgrade Factory that streamlined the processes and work necessary to upgrade their customers from one version of their software to the next. This involved moving from Delphi to a .NET platform and optimizing the process of converting a client’s data from one database platform to another. The ‘factory’ approach allowed the company to convert their customers in a managed approach.
For an electricity generation consortium, Richard was the principal researcher and author of a comprehensive set of Guidelines for the Use of Wireless Technology within Nuclear Power Plants. These guidelines contained not only a thorough primer to current wireless software and hardware technology, but also emerging standards so that they could be evaluated and potentially implemented in current projects. The guidelines also contained a review of wireless applications most likely of interest to power companies and templates to document the financial and business case for implementing wireless LANS inside and outside of the radiation-controlled areas of nuclear power plants. Over 400 pages and 2 volumes in length, the guidelines are still actively sold by the electricity generation consortium that they were created for. The processes and sample documents within these guidelines were estimated by one utility to have saved them over 3 million dollars in their wireless implementation.
Prior to joining Pariveda, Richard was the President of a business that created and sold the top selling series of Lotus Domino upgrading planning and execution tool in the industry, “Migration Pro”. Migration Pro contained detailed procedures, technical documentation and software testing tools relevant to upgrading Notes and Domino environments to the next version. At this company, Richard was responsible for setting up a international network of resellers and product specialists and guiding the incorporation of customer feedback in later versions of the product, development and future direction of the product. This product was purchased by organizations as diverse as Chrysler, United Airlines, Colgate-Palmolive, MasterCard, the US Navy and the CIA.
