More than 70 Pariveda Solutions employees and their families from across the company came together in North Texas last weekend to participate in the 2009 College Recruiting community service event. By providing support and labor to a Dallas area non-profit in this annual event, Pariveda demonstrates its commitment to community service, a core value shared by its college recruits.
For the second consecutive year Pariveda has partnered with the Texas Tree Foundation by transplanting 250 trees that will eventually be donated to area schools and parks. “People think I’m crazy when I tell them that part of our recruiting process for attracting smart, hardworking people is to drag them out of bed at 7:00am on a Saturday and take them to plant trees,” said John Humphrey, Co-Founder and Chairman. “This shows them what true servant leadership means.”
Transplanting trees is good for the environment, but it is hard work and requires team work. “We were introduced to The Texas Tree Foundation through our partnership with Big Brother Big Sisters, who suggested this as an activity for us to do with our Littles. It has developed into one the most enjoyable and memorable community service activities we do every year,” said Justin Shannon, Pariveda’s Community Service Leader. “Everyone gets involved because anyone can participate, and our recruits see the value of team work, which is the essence of our client work.”
