FIRST Robotics Competition

The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition, or FRC, held its annual Lone Star Regional on April 2-3, 2010. Five of our Houston Fins volunteered for a day at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The FRC brings high school teams from around the state together to create robots that are then used throughout the day in different competitions.

Volunteers are needed throughout the day to help support the different competitions and ensure the overall operation runs smoothly. Fins, Andrew Bose, Mark Cho, Sanjeev Pany, Danny DiPaolo, and Nick Bangia were able to support the event's needs as well as take the opportunity to work with the different teams throughout the day.   Nick Bangia commented the best part about the experience was working with and seeing the different approaches developed by each team to best meet the objectives set for each competition.

At the end of the day, the Regional Coordinartor Lucia Sevcik remarked on how pleased she was the FIRST Robotics competition and invited Pariveda back to participate in next year’s competition.
