Mr. Jim Smelley has over twelve years of management and technology consulting experience spanning the software, energy, manufacturing and health care industries. He has delivered solutions in the areas of IT strategy, large system implementation, organizational strategy, process management, pricing management, enterprise architecture development, project management, customer relationship management and sales force automation. His primary areas of expertise are software company IT strategy and energy industry IT business effectiveness, which includes defining and implementing the strategy, organization, people, processes and technology required to run IT like a business. He also has significant expertise in strategic information systems planning for businesses and IT organizations.
Prior to joining Pariveda Solutions, Mr. Smelley was a co-leader of the IT Strategy group at Tactica Technology Group and leader of the Utilities group at Hitachi Consulting.
He received a B.S. in Computer Science from Trinity University in San Antonio. Mr. Smelley’s speeches and publications include “IT Strategy for Deregulation” at Utility University, “Effective IT Program Management” at the IT Management Group of Dallas, “CIS Implementations: The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions” for Energy Central and “Consulting in the 21st Century” at an American Institute of Technology Professionals conference.
