Mr. Jay Williams has over twenty-two years of experience in all facets of Information Technology. His primary area of expertise is designing and managing the strategic technology direction of companies, most often in the role of Chief Technology Officer/VP of Technology, and has consulted to people in those roles, as well. He has used his entrepreneurial and business-savvy skills to engage the practical uses of technology to empower the business while maintaining fiscal responsibility and maximizing the use of resources.
Mr. Williams has deep experience with a broad range of technologies. He is an experienced Object oriented designer familiar with all major development methodologies and tool sets, UML, Agile, RUP for most current development environments and languages, especially Java, Eclipse, and application server based frameworks. He led and developed the frameworks and processes presented in the published findings of a renowned global cooperative technology research group which addressed the business and technology needs of companies today in the areas of security and privacy. He has also participated in many forums and committees involving the creation of networking and Internet standards since the late 80’s.
Mr. Williams’s industry experience includes work with financial, educational, travel, consumer products, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, energy, professional services, telecommunications, and real estate management clients.
Prior to joining Pariveda Solutions, Mr. Williams has served as president of his own consulting firm, VP of technology for a 1500 person organization, and Chief Technology Officer for a number of firms. Among other accomplishments, he has worked directly with Executive Management Teams at Fortune 1000 companies to design, develop (and in some cases re-develop) their Information Technology Strategies and processes. He has also designed and developed IT Portfolio and Project Management process for business with specific emphasis on driving business innovation with technology leadership
Mr. Williams attended the University of California at Berkeley and has a B.A. from the University of Houston. He has earned numerous technical certifications on a wide variety of technologies over the years. He has presented at business and industry conferences on a wide variety of subjects for over 15 years, and has been published and quoted in many business and industry publications including the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
