Together with approximately 100 other volunteers, participants assisted the Houston Food Bank with the sorting and grouping process of donated goods. Pariveda volunteers helped by sorting medicine products, disposing of expired/damaged food, and recycling appropriate items throughout the shift. After all was said and done, the volunteers helped to package 11,000 + meals for Houston families in need!

About the Houston Food Bank

The Houston food bank is a non-profit organization that collects and distributes food to hunger relief charities. Food usually comes from various sources in the food industry, like grocery stores and wholesalers, that have thousands of pounds of food to give away - food that could otherwise be thrown away.

We warehouse the food, and with help from volunteers, sort, pack and re-distribute it to the community. Traditionally, a food bank does not distribute food directly to those in need.
